Megan opened the first room on Geelong Rd in Kingsville in 2013. She wanted a salon that did not smell like a salon, and that did not fill a skip every week. Sunshine followed in 2019. Essendon opened in 2024.
Twelve years later the colour is still ammonia free , the bins are still sorted by hand, and behind the Essendon salon there is now SATORI House , a room for healing and workshops. That is the whole idea. Nothing about it is complicated.

Hair clippings
Swept, bagged and collected, not binned
Hair is one of the biggest things a salon throws out. Ours leaves in a collection bag instead of a wheelie bin. It gets used for booms that soak up oil spills and for compost.

If you are cutting off length, we will measure it, tie it and send it away for you. It costs you nothing and it takes the same appointment you were already booked into.

A full head of foils is a lot of aluminium. It goes in a metals stream, not general waste. Same for the tubes the colour comes out of.
Cutting your length off? Say so before we start. We measure it, tie it and send it on to be made into a wig, at no cost to you.

Do I have to be an existing client to book online?
Online booking is for people who have been in before. If this is your first visit, call the salon you want or send the form on this page. We will ask a couple of questions about your hair first so we book you enough time.
What does ammonia free colour actually mean for my hair?
It means the colour lifts and deposits without the harsh smell and the scalp sting most people expect from a salon. We use O&M and Natulique in all three salons. If your scalp reacts to normal colour, tell us and we will patch test you.
Why do your prices have three levels?
Emerging, Stylist and Principle. The price reflects how long someone has been behind the chair and how much time your service is booked for. Every level is qualified. Pick the one that suits your budget.
